Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Removes Fire-Hopping Trick
Just like how the bunny hop was a controversial move in Counter-Strike back in the day, Mario Kart 8 had a fire-hopping trick where gamers could gain small boosts by hopping left and right while coming out of a boost. It wasn’t really an illegal move but pulling it off wasn’t easy and not all players might be aware of it.
This means that in some instances, more pro players would have an advantage over other players who were playing “normally”. If you’ve hated the move and felt it was unfair, you might be pleased to learn that in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo seems to have removed the feature which means that now everyone will be “equal”, or at least to a certain extent.
The discovery that the feature could be gone was in a video uploaded onto YouTube by GameXplain where they took the game for a spin to see if it was true, only to discover that it has. We’re sure that there will be more elite Mario Kart players who will lament the missing feature as we guess it separated the pros from the newbies, but at least now the playing field is more or less even.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released on the 28th of April where it will be an exclusive title for the Switch. Gamers can check out this video if they want to see the difference in graphics between the original title for the Wii U and the version for the Switch.
